“The cinematic music of singer songwriter James H. White takes me on a journey filled with both patriotism and humanity. His music is a force for good in the world. ”
— Award-winning filmmaker Mathias Magnason
James H. White’s voice is rough and honest. He loves the vast expanse of Americana, from the dirty country of Johnny Cash and Ryan Bingham to the goodness in Gospel.
His debut single “Purple Heart” was born out of gratitude. The inner fortitude and sacrifice of soldiers has always inspired James. His father served. His uncle served. His ancestors served. James feels indebted to America’s servicemen and women, as they’ve given him the freedom to speak his mind, believe what’s in his soul, and live freely. These gifts of Liberty are impossible to pay back. He is eternally grateful.
James co-wrote “Purple Heart” with Katy Mantyk. It was produced under James’ record label, ICONS UNITE, in partnership with producer David English. Katy says:
“‘Purple Heart’ gives me such feelings of nostalgia and memories of epic past lives. I feel the distant ache of losing the love of my life and yet he makes me feel good about it, that the sacrifices we make for each other, our loves and our fellow man, are really heroic and worthwhile. He makes me feel like a hero.”
The combined efforts of people from five countries—United States, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Canada, and Russia—unite for “Purple Heart.” The spirit of sacrifice lives through all people.
